Wedding Day - Chris Sexton

This is the first time I have ever made my own handmade flowers and I liked it so much I have made three different varieties - look for them at your local scrapbook store! NOT!!!!!

In the photo above the large flower was made by gathering a strip of broderie anglaise. I then layered the top flower which was cut from a crocheted doily and and then secured the two flowers together with a pearl brad.

The two smaller flowers were made from paper that was fringed then quilled and lastly inked. The spiral flower was cut from a circle cut into a spiral then rolled from the outside into the centre. Edges were also inked.

It is interesting to look back at classic wedding photos and see how much the style of everything has changed. In most cases this is for the good!
I enjoyed my challenge and I can now add flower production to my repertoire.
Chris
